The Fife Coastal Path

The Fife Coastal Path is a long-distance walking trail of around 117 miles (188km) long. It starts in Kincardine in West Fife and ends in Newburgh in North Fife. We have split it up into sections so you can easily see what is achievable for a day’s walk or when tackling the entire route. Each path section lists the distance and approximate time to complete, along with information about what to see en route.

If you have a specific interest, use our interactive map to highlight the areas of the path that are best suited to you. Why not make each walk on the Fife Coastal Path personal to you.

Scotland enjoys some of the best access rights in the world. Visit our Outdoor Access page for important information about how to behave responsibly in the Fife countryside. When you’ve explored the Fife Coastal Path’s sections here, please read Plan Your Trip for Travel and Information (links to public transport, tide times and public toilets) and Resources (downloadable leaflets).

Then we suggest you purchase a map and guidebook from our online shop.

Locals and visitors love the Fife Coastal Path. So just get out there and follow the waymarkers! We encourage walkers to use public transport where possible. Fife is very well served for trains (operated by ScotRail), express coaches and local buses. Head to Traveline Scotland to plan your outdoor adventure in the Kingdom of Fife.
